The IEE project MaTrID deals with the application of Integrated Energy Design (IED) during the building design process. According to EU regulations all new buildings shall be nearly zero energy buildings (nZEB) by 2020. The integrated energy design approach shall support the market transformation towards nearly zero energy buildings.
In this context the building design phase is of particular importance. IED aims at reduction of complexity of the design process. The application of IED may leads to cost-efficient solutions for nZEB. Only in the very early design phases changes of the general concept design can be implemented at low cost.
